Back to School at the Old School House

August 16, 2012

Concord School House in 1962.

Spread the word! Since its inception in 1775, the Historic Concord School House has faithfully promoted education in the Germantown neighborhood. Today, the School House aims to continue such support by hosting its third annual school supply giveaway with the purpose of better preparing local students for the upcoming school year. The first 150 students to come to the School House (6309 Germantown Avenue) starting at 10 AM this Saturday, August 18 will receive backpacks stuffed with pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, notebooks, crayons, folders, highlighters, and calculators–all for FREE.

This Saturday, the Concord School House will be giving away free school supplies to local students.

In order to receive their supplies, children must be present and accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please keep in mind that this event will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan to come sooner rather than later! The Concord School House will also be open for tours during the event from 10 AM – 2 PM.

The 6300 Germantown Business Alliance returns as a generous co-sponsor for the event, joined this year by Elfant-Wissahickon Realtors/The Neil Kugelman Team, Trolley Car Diner, New Covenant Church of Philadelphia, Historic Germantown, Target, and Citibank. Thanks to all who help make this giveaway a reality!
