Jazz Up Your Summer at the Mennonite Meetinghouse
What better way to spend a summer evening than to enjoy timeless music in a historic setting?
Germantown Mennonite Historic Trust proudly presents Ed Wise and his New Orleans Jazz Band in the first of two concerts to be held at the Germantown Mennonite Meetinghouse, located at 6119 Germantown Avenue.
String bassist Ed Wise is currently featured as a roster artist for Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour. A resident of New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina, Wise has been bringing the music and stories of old New Orleans to audiences up and down the East Coast since 2005. On Thursday, June 28 at 8 PM, join Wise and company for a special concert featuring vintage music from jazz giants such as Sidney Bechet and Django Reinhardt. To learn more about Ed Wise and his newest CD “Géants!”, check out his website at www.edwisemusician.com.
The second concert, scheduled for Wednesday, July 25, will feature jazz guitarist Marty Grosz headlining the trio of musicians known as “Marty Grosz and the Fig Pickers.” Stay tuned!
Admission for both events is $10 for adults and free for children. Refreshment sales and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the historic site.
