The Germantown Historical Society offers ‘An Insider’s View of the Antiques Roadshow’

Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes at the Antiques Roadshow? Then join the Germantown Historical Society on Sunday November 13th from 2 – 4 PM for An Insider’s View of the Antiques Roadshow. The event begins with Dr. Donald H. Cresswell who will lead a lively discussion featuring stories drawn from over ten years as a regular guest appraiser on BS’s highest rated series, Antiques Roadshow! Dr. Creswell is an author, librarian and co-owner of the Philadelphia Print Shop located in Chestnut Hill. The discussion is $20 in advance, $25 at the door and is open to the public.

Dr. Cresswell’s presentation will be followed by an interactive session where a panel of experts will examine your object andoffer some information about its history. This special session is open to Germantown Historical Society members only, who can bring a book, print, historical photograph or small object for inspection. Memberships may be purchased at the door for $30.

The event will be held at the Germantown Cricket Club, located at 411 West Manheim Street, Philadelphia, PA 19144. Completed in 1893, the Cricket Club is a National Historic Landmark building designed by McKim, Meade and White. Participants are encouraged to enjoy this beautiful building over brunch, offered from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM.
