Works by Sarah Hunter at the La Salle University Art Museum

October 25, 2011

Sarah Hunter, High Water Mark (2009), oil on canvas

If you love art then come to the La Salle University Art Museum to see the work of emerging Philadelphia artist Sarah Hunter in her first solo art museum exhibition, Collected Curiosities. Hunter’s whimsical works combine depictions of toy animals with flat planes, reminding the viewer of a diorama.  Mammals, birds, and dinosaurs play, fight and roam through natural and urban landscapes. The style of Hunter’s works illustrate her interest in the display of scientific ‘curiosities’, stemming from her work experience at the Academy of Natural Sciences.

To learn more about the artist and her works, come to the Artist’s Talk on Tuesday November 15th from 12:30 – 1:30 PM. The discussion is free and open to the public. The exhibition is on view until December 8th. For more information about the exhibition or the museum, call 215.951.1221.
